Research and technical services include:

1. Conducting of applied research to solve current and looming problems of the Banana Industry

2. Disease screening and monitoring programmes

3. Integrated pest management of Sigatoka, Post harvest and Moko diseases: as well as nematode, borer weevil and fruit thrip pests.

4. Provision of individual and zoned fertilizer recommendation services to farmers in order to optimize the nutrition and yield of the crop

5. Standards or best practice monitoring

6. Value added Enterprise support

7. Maintenance of the banana and plantain germplasm collection at Bodles Banana Breeding Station
